Fitting Writers into the Development Process
Game developers are sometimes left scratching their heads on how to incorporate writers into the game development process.  This talk will take attendees through the stages of development to identify how a writer can integrate with the team and add value to the game, whether it be narrative-driven or narrative-light.

Bio
Writers Guild Award-winner Anne Toole has written for TV, games, webseries, VR, comics, and more. Her credits include the award-winning PS4 exclusive HORIZON: ZERO DAWN; CURSE OF THE PHARAOHS for ASSASSIN’S CREED: ORIGINS; and THE LIZZIE BENNET DIARIES, a webseries that won an Emmy. She also created ALLES LIEBE, ANNETTE, a webseries for German broadcaster MDR. Her work will next appear in the Netflix anime series CANNON BUSTERS. Anne has spoken extensively on storytelling across platforms at such conferences as South by Southwest, Comic-con International, GDC Europe, and GDC, as well as in presentations at MIT, Harvard, and Cannes. She most recently served as the Vice Chair of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA). A citizen of Ireland as well as the US, Anne holds a degree in Archaeology from Harvard.
