Age rating in Germany and recent changes regarding social adequacy and unconstitutional symbols
Following current interpretation of the applicable law by the Permanent Representatives of the Supreme Youth Protection Authorities of the Federal States (OLJB), two weeks ago the German Age Rating Board (USK) changed the submission process regarding the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations (namely those of National Socialist organizations) in games. This allows publishers to submit games for an age rating that contain formerly problematic contents. In this talk we want to give a quick overview on the general classification process of the USK and the relevant changes that come with this decision in the classification process.
