Growing Your Team While Retaining Your Culture
Jacinda Chew had to grow the Insomniac Games art/animation team to more than 90 people while being careful to retain the studio’s boutique art team culture. There were many challenges associated with that, including creating a unique universe for third party IP. She will use game content examples from the recent history, including Marvel’s Spider-Man, to illustrate production-driven points and theories.

Jacinda Chew started her career working on the textures for the PS2, when you could still learn modeling on the job and VHS portfolios were still a thing.  Since then, she has grown from an environment modeler to the Studio Art Director at Insomniac Games.  Jacinda enjoys working in both stylized and realistic formats and is particularly proud of Sunset Overdrive and Marvel's Spider-Man.  The industry has changed a lot in the last few years, but the passion and enthusiasm Jacinda's team and she has for its game projects remains the same.
