Shalev Moran

Independent Artist and Game Designer
This talk introduces a set of basic metaphors for distributing information in navigable media. Shalev originally designed it as a tool for his students in the class “Narrative Design for Digital Games” at the Shenkar College’s Game Center, and he has since found it extremely useful in his game design work. It draws inspiration from the richly-detailed narrative environments of contemporary 3D games, but can be applied to any navigable expression - from interfaces to supermarkets to escape rooms.

Shalev is an artist and game designer from Tel Aviv, formerly at Plarium and now independent. He is the Games Curator for Print Screen Festival since 2013, and teaches Game Narrative Design at Shenkar College since 2016. He's written about games for print and television, and frequently gives talks and workshops about digital art, storytelling and the politics of videogames.
